Christmas Day in the Park

The strength of a nation derives from the integrity of the home. - Confucius

On Christmas Day my wife and I joined our son and his fiancé in the only way allowed—outside, with proper spacing between us. We went to Confederation Park in Calgary and the four of us plus two dogs walked the main paths. Looking at the crowds of people in the park I wondered if there were so many family groups there in previous years when other socialising at such places as restaurants and sports events wasn’t governed by the law makers.

The fresh snow gave a lustre to the whole park and the scene above was just a sample. The wintering trees showed off their forms and the low angled sun provided lightly defined shadows. The families on the trail are but silhouettes, which is all that was needed for the effect I was after.

The scene was peaceful.
