The morning fog lifted with the heat of the sun striking the hill tops.  Shafts of light shot into the coulees and valleys, displacing the evening cold with new energy for the day.

An early snow fall had covered the peaks of the front range with a white backdrop that reflected the red, then pink morning light as the sun crept above the horizon.

The sounds had started earlier. The birds predictive songs shout out an expectation of the thrill of the new day.  They seemed to rejoice in their dawn chorus.

How nice it must be to feel this every morning.

Sitting, watching, and listening, I have one of those moments when everything seems right.

I am so relaxed I could roll over and fall asleep again, if I had a bed.  I think of the ranchers nearby who witness this every day and envy creeps in.
