Trail Photography

I’ve decided to attempt a Cochrane version of “Street Photography”, a popular big city photography genre. Our town doesn’t have the activity or the architecture necessary to create good street photography. However, I can have some hope of capturing the feeling of life in Cochrane by focusing on our walking trails—hence, “Trail Photography”.
It will be a challenge to my creativity to make worthwhile images.

Most people on our trails are not gathered in groups or standing around on a street corner. Nor are they abnormally dressed or made up. Those are some of the things that make street photography interesting.
The people here in Cochrane are out for exercise, and many are on their own. Weekends, especially in the Spring, Summer, and Fall months, bring many family groups to the trails.
Another difference that I find delightful is that most trail walkers in Cochrane will exchange a simple greeting with you. That caught my wife and me off guard when we first moved here, but we quickly found that this short social interaction added to the enjoyment of our walks. It still does.

Sounds like a good project. Albeit ,challenging as you say.
Your “trail” concept “grabs” me Jack, I especially enjoy looking at photos of people doing their thing, and of course wandering on all kinds of trails and paths, even following game trails at times looking for wildflowers to photograph! I think it will be a hit and I look forward to more such photography of yours.
